AVRAM IANCU STREET
This is one of the oldest streets in the city, dating back to the mid-14th century with the completion of the third ring of fortifications. It was initially inhabited by wealthy craftsmen and later by the city's patricians. For centuries, this street was the best address in Sibiu. In 1556, it was known as Reyssbargas, in 1776 as platea oryza, and from 1875 it was called Reispergasse until 1919 when it received its current name of Avram Iancu.
Midway down the street on the left side, the School Passage starts through a tunnel that connects to the lower town (Movilei Street).
The house that currently hosts the Historical Center Residence is located at number 6 Avram Iancu Street.
